The Maldon District Business Forum is pleased to announce Ms.Jan Smith as its Chairman from 15 April 2008. Jan will be a great asset to the Business Forum in leading the Steering Group forward into the future. Jan’s business interests and experience are varied. She is Chairman to EOL IT Services, an IT Asset Recycling, Data Security and Managed Services organisation which she created in 1996. She is also Managing Director of Little Owls Children’s Day Nursery in Danbury, which provides childcare to up to 83 children per day between the ages of 3months and 5years. In addition to this Jan manages two other businesses – Newko, which supplies serviced offices and conference facilities, and Making Your Mark – a specialist training organisation.
The Business Forum will benefit from Jan’s vast business experience as the Forum seeks to engage more participants. Her experience of, and links in the private sector will be beneficial in ensuring diversity is an integral part of the Maldon District Business Forum.

East of England Tourism will be running a series of training courses and environmental advisory visits in the Maldon area as part of its new project 'Sustainable Tourism East'. They are offering businesses in the Maldon area the opportunity to take part in a number of reduced cost training courses and to receive a free green business advisory visit.
